Donald Trump to Attend FIFA Club World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium

President Donald Trump has confirmed his attendance at the FIFA Club World Cup final, set to take place this Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. This announcement was made during a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, where Trump expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “I’ll be going to the game.” His presence at the final is consistent with his history of attending major sporting events during his presidency, including UFC fights and Super Bowl LIX.

The FIFA Club World Cup, hosted by the United States, is a precursor to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will predominantly take place in the U.S., with Canada and Mexico also hosting several matches. In anticipation of these significant events, Trump announced in March the formation of a White House task force dedicated to overseeing preparations. He leads this task force, with Vice President JD Vance serving as vice chair.

In May, Trump appointed Andrew Giuliani, son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, as the executive director responsible for managing daily operations of the task force. Carlos Cordeiro, a senior advisor to FIFA, was also named as a senior advisor on the task force. Trump praised Giuliani’s appointment, highlighting his competitive nature and dedication to the task at hand.

The final match will see Chelsea FC compete after their 2-0 victory over Fluminense in the semifinals. They will face off against the winner of the semifinal match between Paris St-Germain and Real Madrid. The event promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the tournament and is expected to draw significant attention from soccer fans worldwide.
