UAE Intensifies Crackdown on Visa Violations, Identifies 32,000 Cases in Six Months

UAE’s Vigorous Visa Enforcement Efforts

In the first half of 2025, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has taken significant steps to address visa violations, identifying over 32,000 cases. This initiative is part of a broader effort by the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICP) to ensure compliance with immigration laws. The intensified inspection campaigns reflect the nation’s commitment to maintaining security and legal order, as stipulated under Federal Law No. 29 of 2021.

February’s Extensive Inspection Operations

A notable highlight of these efforts occurred in February when authorities conducted 252 operations. These operations involved inspections of 4,771 establishments across the country. The rigorous checks were aimed at identifying individuals and businesses that were not adhering to visa regulations. This proactive approach underscores the UAE’s dedication to enforcing its immigration policies and ensuring that all residents comply with legal requirements.

Post-Amnesty Enforcement and Arrests

Following an amnesty period designed to encourage voluntary compliance, the UAE has shifted focus to enforcement. This transition has resulted in approximately 6,000 arrests related to visa violations. The individuals apprehended are now subject to deportation procedures, reinforcing the message that non-compliance will not be tolerated. The post-amnesty crackdown serves as a deterrent to potential violators and highlights the seriousness with which the UAE approaches immigration law enforcement.

Commitment to Security and Legal Compliance

The UAE’s actions are driven by a commitment to national security and legal compliance. By rigorously applying Federal Law No. 29 of 2021, the country aims to create a safe and orderly environment for its residents and visitors. These measures are part of a broader strategy to uphold the rule of law and ensure that all individuals within its borders adhere to established regulations.
