Tragic Incident in Gurugram Home

Radhika Yadav, a promising tennis player, was tragically shot dead by her father, Deepak Yadav, in their Gurugram home. The incident occurred on a Thursday morning in the upscale Sushant Lok area, Sector 57. Kuldeep Yadav, Radhika’s uncle, recounted the harrowing events to the police. He was on the ground floor of their double-storey house when he heard a “loud explosion” around 10:30 am. Rushing upstairs, he found his niece lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen and a 32 bore revolver in the drawing room.

Immediate Response and Hospitalization

Kuldeep and his son, Piyush Yadav, immediately took action. They carried Radhika to their car and rushed her to Asia Maringo Hospital in Sector 56, Gurugram. Unfortunately, upon arrival, doctors declared Radhika dead. Kuldeep expressed his shock and disbelief at the tragic loss of his niece, who was not only a talented tennis player but had also won several trophies.

Family Dynamics and Confession

At the time of the incident, only Deepak, his wife Manju Yadav, and Radhika were on the first floor. Kuldeep lives on the ground floor with his wife Seema and daughter Anmol. Deepak’s son Dheeraj was not present during the incident. According to police reports, Deepak confessed to shooting his daughter due to personal grievances related to her tennis academy. He felt humiliated by local residents’ taunts about living off his daughter’s earnings after she opened an academy following a shoulder injury.

Motivation Behind the Crime

Deepak revealed that he was upset with Radhika for refusing to shut down her tennis academy despite his requests. The academy had become a source of contention as it led to derogatory remarks from villagers in Wazirabad about his dependence on her income. In a fit of rage, Deepak fired five bullets at Radhika, three of which struck her fatally.
