British Author Urges US to Sever Ties with Pakistan Over Nuclear Threats

British Author Criticizes Pakistan Army Chief’s Nuclear Remarks

British political commentator and author David Vance has strongly condemned recent statements made by Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir, describing them as “absolutely scandalous and disgraceful.” During an interview with ANI, Vance criticized Munir’s nuclear threats against India, labeling them as reckless and insane. He emphasized that such inflammatory comments should not be tolerated, especially given India’s measured and coherent response.

Call for US Diplomatic Action

Vance further expressed his desire for the United States to reconsider its diplomatic relations with Pakistan. He argued that the US should break off ties until Pakistan demonstrates behavior befitting a civilized nation, which he claims it has not done for a long time. Vance also criticized the US government’s muted response to Munir’s comments, suggesting that Washington should have reacted more forcefully, particularly since the remarks were made on American soil.

US Tolerance Questioned

The British author voiced his frustration over what he perceives as America’s tolerance for Pakistan’s provocative behavior. He questioned why the US, under President Trump’s administration, allows such sensitive issues to be addressed so recklessly by Pakistani officials.

India’s Firm Stance on Nuclear Threats

In response to Munir’s comments in Florida, where he reportedly threatened nuclear action against India, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a strong statement. The MEA condemned the remarks as typical of Pakistan’s nuclear sabre-rattling and highlighted concerns about the integrity of Pakistan’s nuclear command. The spokesperson expressed regret that these comments were made from a friendly third country and reiterated India’s commitment to safeguarding its national security against nuclear blackmail.
