In a dramatic turn of events in south Delhi’s Sultanpur area, a woman allegedly conspired with two men to snatch her husband’s phone. The motive behind this bold move was to delete intimate photos stored on the device, which featured her and her lover. The incident, which took place on June 19, has drawn significant attention due to its unusual nature and the subsequent police investigation.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan, the woman provided detailed information about her husband’s daily routine and work schedule to the accomplices. Armed with this information, the two men executed the plan by snatching the phone near Old UK Paint Factory on Main Market Road in Sultanpur. The complainant reported that two masked individuals on a scooter carried out the theft, with one wearing a distinctive blue T-shirt.
The police investigation quickly gained momentum following a PCR call reporting the mobile snatching. Utilizing an ANPR scan from Vasant Kunj, authorities identified the scooter’s registration number, revealing it had been rented for a single day from Daryaganj. This crucial lead allowed investigators to trace the suspects to Balotra in Rajasthan’s Barmer district. One of the accused, Ankit Gahlot, aged 27, was apprehended and confessed to his involvement in the crime.
Following their crime, the duo attempted to evade capture by checking into a hotel in Old Delhi. While one suspect remains at large, efforts are underway to apprehend him. Meanwhile, the woman involved has been bound down in connection with the case. The police continue their search for the remaining suspect as they piece together more details about this intriguing case.
