Woman’s Heartbreaking Suicide Note Highlights Domestic Abuse

Tragic Incident in Andhra Pradesh

In a deeply saddening event, a 24-year-old woman named Srividya from Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district took her own life, leaving behind a poignant note addressed to her brother. The note contained a heart-wrenching message: “Be careful, little brother. This time, I may not be able to tie Rakhi on you.” This statement underscores the gravity of her situation and the emotional turmoil she faced.

Background of the Victim

Srividya was a college lecturer who had been married for just six months to Rambabu, a village surveyor. Her life took a tragic turn shortly after her marriage, as she began experiencing severe domestic abuse. The abuse reportedly started just one month into their marriage, marking the beginning of a distressing pattern of violence and harassment.

Details of the Abuse

In her note, Srividya detailed the brutal treatment she endured at the hands of her husband. She described how Rambabu would come home intoxicated and subject her to physical and verbal abuse. He allegedly mocked her, calling her “useless” in front of another woman, and inflicted severe physical pain by slamming her head against the bed and punching her in the back. This relentless torture reportedly became unbearable for Srividya, ultimately leading to her tragic decision.

Ongoing Investigation

Local authorities have been informed of the incident and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Srividya’s death. The case highlights the urgent need for addressing domestic violence and providing support to victims.
