Worm Discovered in Meal at Bengaluru Airport’s Rameshwaram Cafe

Incident at Bengaluru Airport Cafe

A disturbing incident unfolded at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru when a customer discovered a worm in his meal at the Rameshwaram Cafe. The incident occurred on Thursday morning when the customer ordered pongal for breakfast. Upon finding the worm, he immediately raised a complaint with the cafe staff.

Customer’s Allegations and Response

The customer alleged that the cafe staff initially attempted to downplay the situation. It was only after he began recording a video of the worm in his food and capturing the staff’s reactions that they acknowledged the issue. The video shows the customer highlighting the worm in a spoonful of pongal while discussing with another patron about potentially escalating the matter to the cafe owner via Instagram.

Staff’s Reaction and Refund Offer

In response to the growing attention, the staff offered an apology and provided a full refund of Rs 300 for the contaminated dish. The video also captures one of the staff members questioning if he had spoken inappropriately during the incident. Despite these developments, there was no official statement from Rameshwaram Cafe at the time of reporting.

Rameshwaram Cafe’s Background and Previous Issues

Rameshwaram Cafe is a well-known brand based in Bengaluru, with several outlets popular among both locals and tourists. However, this is not the first time the chain has faced scrutiny. In May of last year, its Hyderabad outlets were investigated by Telangana’s Food Safety Department after expired and mislabelled food items were discovered, including 100 kilos of urad dal and expired dairy products.
