BluSmart, celebrated as India’s first all-electric cab service, was once hailed for its eco-friendly and dependable alternative to traditional ride-hailing services. Founded by Anmol Singh Jaggi and Puneet Singh Jaggi, the company quickly gained a loyal customer base. However, earlier this year, BluSmart’s operations came to an abrupt halt following allegations of financial misconduct against its founders. According to an interim order by SEBI, the Jaggi brothers allegedly misappropriated Rs 978 crore meant for electric vehicle purchases, redirecting funds towards personal luxuries such as a high-end apartment in DLF Camellias and a Rs 26 lakh golf set.
Months after BluSmart ceased operations, a video has surfaced online showing the company’s cabs gathering dust at an electric vehicle (EV) charging station. Shared by a user with the handle @BunnyPunia on X, the clip reveals several Tata Tigor EVs from BluSmart’s fleet parked and seemingly abandoned at a Jio-bp EV charging hub. The video has gone viral, amassing over 991,000 views and drawing mixed reactions from social media users.
The video has sparked a wave of nostalgia among former BluSmart users who fondly remember the service for its clean vehicles and courteous drivers. Many expressed frustration over the company’s downfall, lamenting the loss of what they considered Delhi’s best cab service. Users also criticized the alleged greed of the promoters, which they believe led to the collapse of a promising business, leaving drivers jobless and vehicles unused.
Despite the disappointment, some users expressed hope that BluSmart’s fleet could be revived under new management. They suggested that with proper maintenance and rebranding, these electric cabs could once again serve commuters in the National Capital Region (NCR). The sentiment reflects a desire for reliable and affordable transportation options in Delhi, which many feel are lacking with current alternatives.
The viral video has reignited discussions about the need for sustainable and trustworthy cab services in urban areas. As former customers reminisce about BluSmart’s reliability and affordability, there is a growing call for industry players to consider reviving or replicating such models to meet the demand for clean and efficient transportation.
